I love flowers, who wouldn't working in one of Ireland's magnificent gardens at Powerscourt! But on a personal level I love them too and for me the flowers that stand out most are the big blousy blooms in soft pinks and lilacs, almost giving a vintage feel.
There are so many options to choose from and it's important to take onboard the advice from your chosen florist. They can advise on the flowers that are in season, what will work with your overall wedding theme and what works best with your complexion and that of you hubby to be!
Most wedding florists will keep a portfolio of their past weddings so you can readily see if their style suits yours. Here in Ireland we seem to play it a little safe when it comes to using colour but a colourful display of flowers will certainly keep the ambience upbeat.
Your bridal bouquet is the perfect accessory to your wedding dress so it's important to choose the right tone and flower.
Some lovely blooms to watch out for are; Echeveria, Hyacinth, Lisianthus, Lilac, Iris, Delphiniums, Dahlia, Tulips, Carnations, Freesia, Roses, Lilies, Amaranths, & Hydrangea to name a few...
Remember that the flowers that look well with your dress also need to work well with the groom, bridesmaids, flower girls, and your venue. Simple though it seems one might forget that the venue may have vivid or muted colours in their function facilities and it is all about complimenting colours in your overall wedding theme.
